UPDATE ON DEVELOPMENTS RELATED TO REMOTE ACTIVITIES

• The ISO/IAF/ILAC Joint Strategic Group is developing a survey to get the views of those within the conformity assessment community and their stakeholders to understand the lessons learnt from the pandemic, including the experiences of remote assessment and auditing.

• The IAF CABAC (Conformity Assessment Bodies Advisory Committee) is submitting a paper to the IAF Technical Committee proposing the creation of an IAF Task Force to draw together all the numerous remote documents, policies and procedures and have a definitive document on the issue. The proposal is that the document would consist of a generic framework and then specific sections dealing with individual conformity assessment areas, defined by CASCO standards.

• EA HHC just issued a New Work Item Proposal for a workshop and to develop a guidance procedural document on remote assessments. Relevant email is attached.

• As informed last week, UKAS has issued for consultation (until March 31) a document on a blended approach to management system audits.
