9 June 2022 marks the World Accreditation Day, a global initiative established by ILAC and IAF to promote the value of accreditation.
This year’s theme, Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment, focuses on how accreditation supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
You can read more in IAF and ILAB Brochure and watch this explanatory video on their YouTube channel.
On the occasion of the Accreditation Day, RELACRE-LNEC organised a very insightful live-streamed presentation on “Creating the Miniaturized laboratories of the future” and we quote:
“If you think of big laboratories, we’re aiming to diminish their size to fit in the palm of your hand and be taken everywhere in the world. Microfluidics devices are the size of a pinkie nail. We need standardization to achieve the same level of maturity and industrialization as electronic devices. EMPIR – 20NRM02 MFMET project aims to contribute to the development of globally accepted metrology standards in microfluidic devices.” Vania Silverio, Ph.D. | R&D Microfluidics Scientists | INESC MN Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias Speech on "Creating the Miniaturized laboratories of the future" during the 3rd Edition of the “LNEC Laboratories Open Day”.
