To keep pace with the ever-increasing scope of possibilities in digitalisation and society’s growing dependence on digital solutions in daily life, the TIC sector is in parallel adapting its services and practices to remain vigilant and provide a quality assessment of products to ensure compatibility and compliance. To date the TIC sector has made major strides towards this goal, turning its attention to addressing requirements such as connectivity, cybersecurity, privacy and safety when concerning the data economy, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). Meanwhile, the TIC sector has also stepped up to provide testing through the use of digital solutions across the spectrum of 'traditional' products, commodities and services to modernise its service and expand the quality of its assessment methods. However, despite many TIC companies embarking on a variety of digitisation initiatives across many dimensions, it is reported that few have yet to achieve a completely high level of digital maturity. It is therefore evident from the report that TIC players must adapt digitally to succeed in the future and ensure business resiliency.
To better understand the digital road ahead, TIC Council is pleased to invite you to our virtual panel, which will bring together speakers from both TIC Council member SGS and global management consulting firm, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to discuss digitalisation in the TIC industry.
To properly assess the TIC sector’s digital maturity and to examine the ongoing and future impacts of digitalisation on the sector, BCG and Rothschild & Co conducted a digital maturity assessment survey with the consultation of 52 TIC companies to represent a wide variety of services, industries, fields, and regions which the TIC sector operates in. This webinar will include presentations from both report authors Mr. Eric Ritsema (BCG Partner) and Mr. Ivan Vaganov (BCG Senior Knowledge Analyst), who will share the findings and results of this survey and explain BCG’s proprietary methodology, the Digital Acceleration Index (DAI), upon which it is based. Following this, we will be joined by SGS CEO and TIC Council Vice-President Frankie Ng, who will provide the TIC sector perspective and offer insights into SGS’s approach and best practices concerning digital maturity. In doing so, this webinar will achieve its aim, to understand the impacts of digitalisation in the future and the potential opportunities and risks which need to be identified.
